Going to concerts has never really been Josh’s thing. He’s not into celebrity culture, raves, or massive festivals. But when it comes to Grace VanderWaal, it’s different.
Josh has been a fan of Grace since middle school, back when she won America’s Got Talent. He even made one of his first YouTube videos about her. Over the years, her music has been a source of comfort—so when he saw tickets for just $25, he knew he had to go.
This time, Josh went alone. No date, no friends, no distractions—just him, the music, and the moment. At first, it felt awkward. Sitting by himself, he worried people might stare. But soon he realized nobody cared. The crowd was there for the same reason he was: to experience the music.
When Grace walked on stage, it hit him. The energy, the art, the performance—it was more than just a concert. For Josh, it was a reminder of how powerful music can be, especially when life feels heavy.
This wasn’t his first Grace concert, either. He’s been to three shows now, each marking a different era of his life. One time he even brought a date—but let’s just say it didn’t go well (they never texted again). Another time, he had a birthday cake with her face on it. Awkward? Maybe. Memorable? Absolutely.
Now, after going solo, Josh realized something important: sometimes the best experiences happen when you’re not afraid to go alone.
Would he do it again? Absolutely. In fact, he’s already waiting for the next Grace VanderWaal concert to roll around.
