    What started as a simple food vlog turned into a chaotic solo journey through Chinatown—and Josh wouldn’t have it any other way. With no plan, no crew, and only a camera in hand, he wandered into hidden alleys, adorable bakeries, tight-packed anime stores, and snack shops filled with international sweets.

    Josh vs. Chinatown: The Chaos Begins

    Josh kicked off the day already lost, embracing the confusion with open arms. He dove into Chinatown Bakery and immediately fell for Hello Panda cookies, Pocky sticks, and a taro pastry he couldn’t quite identify but fully devoured anyway.

    Boba, Tiny Aisles, and Sensory Overload

    Wandering further, Josh navigated towers of restaurants and shops, ordering a mango boba with tapioca like a rookie and accidentally crashing a local market. With every turn, he was overwhelmed by more delicious options than his budget (or stomach) could handle.

    Pork Buns & Deep Thoughts

    He stepped out of his comfort zone to try unfamiliar Chinese pastries, including a pork bun that led to one of the most touching moments of the video—Josh reflecting on cultural appreciation, food diversity, and the joy of exploring something new, even when alone.

    What happens when Josh decides to spend an entire day alone in Millennium Park? You get weird camera angles, hot dog debates, philosophical reflections, and pigeons. Lots of pigeons.

    Armed with a camera and zero shame, Josh wandered Millennium Park to rediscover the iconic Chicago landmark through fresh eyes—and some very cold weather.

    Josh vs. The Bean – A Love/Hate Relationship

    The adventure began where all great Chicago tourist trips begin: The Bean (aka Cloud Gate). Josh captured it from every possible angle—high, low, reflective, existential. He even introduced us to what he calls the “short view,” a perspective he admits isn’t built for tall people like him.

    He poked, prodded, and questioned the steel arc until it became a full-blown monologue on the meaning of public art and germ exposure. A true Chicagoan at heart, Josh hadn’t been to The Bean in years but vowed to embrace the tourist energy for the day.

    This week, I decided to do something a little different: spend a full day solo exploring one of Chicago’s most iconic spots — Millennium Park.

    I grew up in Chicago, but honestly, I don’t visit The Bean (aka Cloud Gate) nearly as much as you’d think. So I grabbed my camera, some good vibes, and hit the park with no plan except to soak it all in.

    Why Millennium Park?

    Because it’s a Chicago staple. Whether you’re a local or just visiting, Millennium Park hits different. From the epic views of downtown to the weird water-spitting faces (yeah, we’ll get to that), this place is packed with art, architecture, and low-key chaotic energy.

    But really, this video wasn’t about The Bean. It was about being alone, on purpose. It was about choosing to explore, to reflect, and to vibe with the city — even if nobody else is around.

    What I Did

    • Saw The Bean from 47 different angles 😂

    💡 The Bean Hits Different Yes, it’s shiny. Yes, it’s reflective. Yes, everyone’s taken a selfie with it. But there’s still something magical about how it mirrors the skyline. Also, it’s fun to pretend you’re squishing it from a distance.

    🌭 Portillo’s Hot Dogs = Chicago Energy Don’t tell anyone, but… I hate Chicago-style hot dogs. Ketchup-only gang. Sorry not sorry.

    🎭 Random Art Posts and Spitting Faces Chicago is weird. And I love that. The faces on the fountain? Creepy. People getting spit on? Iconic.

    🏙️ Bridge Walks and Garden Vibes Millennium Park is so much more than just The Bean. It’s a vibe. And walking solo through all of it made me feel a little more connected to my city.
